From download to your first conversation in under 5 minutes.
Head to the download page and grab the latest macOS release. Pinchr requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later on Apple Silicon.
Open the DMG, drag Pinchr to your Applications folder, and launch it. That's the entire install.
Pinchr is signed and notarized by Apple — no security warnings. If macOS asks about an unidentified developer, make sure you downloaded from pinchr.app.
When you first launch Pinchr, your AI assistant walks you through setup in a conversation. No forms to fill out — just chat.
You'll need an API key from one of these providers:
Claude Opus 4.6 is the strongest model for complex tasks, reasoning, and real-time task management.
Get API key →Use a frontier model. Pinchr is designed for Claude Opus 4.6 or GPT-5.2. Local or smaller models won't handle task management, multi-step reasoning, or tool use reliably.
During onboarding, Pinchr will ask you to acknowledge the security model. This is important — your agent will have access to your filesystem, shell, and network.
Before proceeding, read the security documentation. Pinchr is powered by OpenClaw. Understanding the threat model and visiting the Trust & Security Center is essential before granting permissions. See our full Security & Privacy docs.
Your assistant will ask for two macOS permissions. Both are optional but unlock powerful features:
Lets your agent see your screen to help with what you're working on. Everything stays local on your Mac.
Lets your agent interact with apps — clicking buttons, filling forms, automating desktop workflows.
You can skip these and grant them later from the Security page in Pinchr.
Once your AI is connected, the conversation becomes real. Your agent will:
Every task, reminder, and piece of context is tracked visibly. Open the Tasks page anytime to see what your agent is working on.
